Just stopping in for a quick update. I've been really busy lately working on a short film at school. I was just named the art director and animation lead on our short "3 Day Pizza." Won't disclose more about the project. I was working as an animator on another student project, called "Darn Little Devil." That project took a different turn and I was no longer needed on it. More has happened since I stopped posting artwork. Obviously not posting on DA does have some real advantages. Insane huh? Anyhoo, it all boils down to I was offerred a scholarship, which got revoked due to lack of funding, and I was going to go visit Dreamworks back in May, but that fell through too. Those are little things though, and I really look back and laugh at the mayhem that was going on at that time at school. Still working on a blog. Don't have anythign I really feel like posting up there though. I haven't really had much time to draw for myself, but the things I have been working on for "3 Day Pizza" have been soooo much fun to work on. As far as other projects, I did do character designs for a short about a Ninja Mailman, but that project died during pre-production.

To be honest. After working on a bunch of projects that either got canned or took a different direction, I ended up finding out that most projects in the industry die, especiallyy in pre-production. I'm just glad that the short that I really care about has survived, allthough it got pretty hairy at one point. Of course the next big struggle is figuring how to steer art direction in a productive manner and keep my team of animators working productively. We only have a semester to produce the bare bones of this thing. I want this thing to go on and win a student emmy.

So that's it. Now I'm off to go back to being an art director instead of a slacker.
